Has any one used the 17/64 spouts that you drill a 1/4" hole? If so how did they work for you?

We switched to all 1/4 inch spouts 3 years ago and like them. The only drawback in my opinion, is that the holes tend to be harder to find when tapping the next time, especially on younger, faster growing trees.1/4 " tapping bits break a little easier than 5/16.

So your sap flow was about the same?
Thanks Brian

The smaller spouts run close to what the 5/16 do, what I'm impressed with is how much faster the hole heals up and smaller wound area. The size difference doesn't seem like much till see that hole in the tree. I feel like some kind of a monster now when I punch 7/16 holes for our town trees on buckets.
