So after trying our new pans last season, found my arch wasn't puting out enough heat. After looking at a few others on here, spent this summer building another arch. Thought I would share my pics.

How much does that thing weigh?

Not sure. I was able to move it pretty easy without the brick. I think it would break my scales now.... :(

how far down from the top rail are your nozzles?

OOoo, now that was a compliment... :)

I was going to brick that space in, but decided against it. So 4.5" to the top of the tube. I wanted a much larger firebox, so I bumped the sides out as well.

Well, after my first boil the other night, my stack temp is back up where it should be, but not getting any better boiling rate. I think I am going to bring the back wall out where most arches have them, and only 1/4 of the flu pan exposed. Thought it was worth a try, but the pan didn't boil any better with it half way back.. Also have some other little tweaks with the new pans to adjust before we boil again. Found my preheater wasn't hanging level and thus some of the condensate was dripping back into the pan.

That is gorgeous workmanship. Why not add a baffle above your firebox to force the flame path closer to the bottom of the pan? Easy to try. All "small" pans have the same problem: the heat gets to the stack too soon.

Looks really nice, how many hours you think it took?

Thanks guys. Hours? Hmm, way more then I should have spent probably.. More in research though I think. I bought some more fire brick and moved the wall out and the flu pan did boil better today. Got about 45 gph.
