I keep a couple of sap and syrup hydrometers as it seems in the heat of the moment i always break one. Also a good supply of liquid refreshments.

Spare parts, Nothing ever breaks at an opportune time. So when you break it one time, you order two.

Batteries for when the flashlights die, Chairs and a towel to dry them off, pad of paper and pencil for those moments of genius ideas, damp pens suck!

Agreed on the supportive wife!!!

Refractrometers are worth the $$$ off ebay. I still love my hydrometers but they do break at the worst times.

Bourbon, lots and lots of bourbon. And fire wood. Sap helps too.
