Filter Tanks

How are these used? And are they worth the investment? I'm assuming this can be placed on a burner for reheating since there is a port for a thermometer??

It's a filter canner unit. You place the filter inside and send your hot syrup through it. It can be placed on a burner but not really suggested. Direct heat will cause niter to form in the syrup. A double boiler setup with this would be better.
