I'm looking to add flexible stainless hoses to my RO. Figured it would make it easier to take apart instead of replacing compression fittings every time.
Only problem I have is all plumbing fittings are NPT and every hose I can find or order is FIPS.
since I cant pipe dope or Teflon this connection because the hoses seal with a washer I need to find an adaptor from MALE NPT to MALE IPS
Anybody ever hear of these. Do they exist?

How about a retired pipefitter smartypants ha ha. At work I ran into this often adapting things from one machine to another. I remember that Binks and Develbis (sp?) who handle lots of Stainless high pressure fittings had a bunch of cross over adapters. You might check them out. But at work, pinched for time, I usually got the two fittings in stainless or brass that I needed to adapt then cut off what I didn't need and silver brazed the two I did need together. If your good with a torch that is the way to go if you can't find a crossover fitting or don't have the time. I think they call that Rube Goldberging??? Good luck Jay

Just go to google and type in what you need like bstp male to npt female an it will give you options for those fittings.

This is the response I got from the supplier.
I'm confused even more now. I'm just going to order them and figure it out. Most adapters I can find go from Npt to garden hose fittings.

Thank you for contacting us.

In most plumbing applications and on our site, "Fips" is Female Iron Pipe Size - not Straight as with some other manufacturers - and it is the same as NPT. Both are tapered thread.

IPS and NPT are the same, with Mips/Mipt/MNPT being Male pipe thread, and Fips/Fipt/FNPT being Female pipe thread.

If what you mean is you need to connect Female Fips/Fipt/FNPT threads to a Male Mips/Mipt/MNPT, then the two are compatible.

We apologize for any confusion.

If, however, you are looking for something to connect different types of ends, then please provide additional information and we will look further into your request.

If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,
