Been dreading lifting the big flue pan ever since spring when the brush got stuck in the flues and the handle came out. Decided today would be a good day to raise the pan and get the brush, plus replace the rail gasket before the steam away arrives.Lifted the syrup pan off, then placed a 4 x4 across the arch in front of the flue pan, took another 4 x4 and used the first piece as a fulcrum to lift the front of the big pan up. Slipped in a roller from the old grain binding days, roughly 3.5 inches in diameter, then moved closer to the pan and moved it back further where my Father could then push down on the pan to balance it while my wife and I placed the new rail gasket from back to front, prying the pan up and moving the roller as we went.It was surprisingly easy, took probably less than half an hour
