Summer drought and Spring Maple Syrup

Now I'm not sure if this post is in the right area of the forum but here goes. We're currently in "Stage 3, Drought Warning" in the Western/Central portion of New York State. What I'm wondering is how will this drought affect maple trees and sap come spring time? Does anyone have experience with this? Any info is appreciated.
