I have an older Memteck RO that has three 4" x 20" membranes. They are housed in heavy fiberglass cylinders which has a three pieces interlocking brass ring set that fits in a groove on both ends. These grooves are wearing and disassembly is becoming harder and harder. Where would someone look to buy new SS membrane housing?

Thanks

I installed new housings and xle membranes in my Memtek a couple of seasons back. They are available on ebay for the least I have seen anywhere. What model is your unit and what supply pump.

Ben my Model is the MRO 120 it uses three Dow filmtech XLE 4021's The pump is a Magikist Y81N High pressure triplex pump. Do you remember how much you paid for the housings.

thanks

I would check with http://www.mapleexperts.com/ They had a way better price last year on an 8" vessel. And I went with their membranes also

Mine was $99 and has the 3/4" ports. Stainless body and brackets,350 psi rating.

She was a 425 one day and no issues.

I just did a quick search and don't see any under $140. Do a follow on the search and wait for an email alert for more items to come on sale.

Did a more lengthy search and found this for $105 delivered: http://www.ebay.com/itm/304-Stainless-Steel-Membrane-Housing-4-x-40-RO-Filtration-1-2/221774090049?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%2 6asc%3D37182%26meid%3Dfffa532aee1e4b4d952432b168c7 8557%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D2218 52689522

I would highly recommend looking on the MES site for their file on cleaning of membranes and the system setup/ design.

I do not recall the model of my Memtek but it had 2 - 4 x 40 membranes in series. I switch to the xle branes and immediately had a sugar passage issue...due to the capacity of my high pressure pump. The old branes needed higher pressure to operate and this would reduce the flow rate to acceptable levels. The new design of the vessels will be a set of three branes in series and another three parallel to the first set. The capacity of the pump is enough to run sets parallel and by having three in series I will achieve a higher concentrate level in one pass. I will also have the vessels valved so that they can all run parallel for washing so that any cleaned material will not pass into another vessel where it can settle. All the vessels will be attached to a cart and lay horizontal to facilitate storage for the off season in an already heated building.

Due to the current strength of the $ and the devaluation of the Chinese currency stainless valves are very reasonable and has greatly reduced the cost of this project.

Do you know the capacity of your high pressure pump?

Thanks unfortunately I am in Canada so i lose 30% exchange on anything I purchase in the U.S. I don't know the capacity of my pump but it runs around 500 psi when its operating.

Thanks

I got a couple great quotes for membrane housings from Canadian water warehouse in Newmarket. They don't have them listed on the website but if you call them they will get you a price.

4x40 stainless with 3/4" inlets for $179.00. Pretty sure it was 300 psi rated. If your running at 500 psi or close you will have to go fibreglass. They are pricy. Probley double the price.

MES sells housings I think also. They are in the U.S but could probley tell you exactly what housing you need and ship it to Canada. I got quoted $18 to ship a 4x40 membrane from them. Thought that was pretty good.
