I need helping with sap collection

So my dilemma is I live in Shelton and my inlaws live in west Hartford about 1 hour from my house. I want to tap there 6+ maple trees but I can only get there once a week to collect what's the easiest way I can make this work

being 60 minutes away (120 minutes round trip) would be a deal breaker for me. the sap, when it runs, would need to be collected and stored properly.

tubing and a collection chamber. there's a guy not far from me, he did something similar for the first time this year. Instead of the traditional buckets, he ran tubes and had two or three collection points. For a variety of reasons, I didn't see how he collected from his "buckets"...my guess is, he either dipped with a pail, or maybe used a dc pump.

I'd get an ibc tote, plan on figuring out a way to insulate it, knowing that there runs a risk you may have to dump a batch that goes bad. How do you collect for transport? It sounds like a great idea, use a few trees you have access to...but you'll run into issues to solve at every step, and you'll never be able to predict what they are all going to be.

I think if it were my situation I would find 6 trees about 55 minutes closer to you. I know the temptation as I was offered about 150 trees on a perfect sugar bush it has a lot of drop and road access. The problem is it is 1 1/2 hour round trip. That is doable but on the long haul of the season it may be too much. Somebody around you will be willing to let you tap. Jeff
