There are several different brands of membranes on the market. What membranes have worked the best for everyone running an RO and why?

We are running xle and they are allowing our old system to expand to 2 pair of 4x 40" MBs run parallel to match the pumps GPM. If the check book allows we will run three in series to get higher concentrate in a single pass.
MES has great info on their site and we will be building a stainless rack cart for the MBs so that they can be washed as suggested on their site to get more life out of the MBs.
Our sugar passage issue has been from to high of a capacity across the Mbs in series according to the DOW techs I have talked with.
IMO it is important to consider the MB that is used in the system that is most like yours and will best fit your demands. I don't mind washing when needed but will only flush if that is what is needed.
I expect the next set of MBs to last much longer with the inclusion of a digital ph tester for washing and the continued use of a refractrometer for checking sugar levels. Get them on ebay while the pacific currency is soft and the dollar is strong to save the most $$$.
I would easily switch to a less expensive MB if the data is comparable.

You won't find a better membrane for the money than MES. Hands down best bang for the buck
