I just bought a used 2007 year D&G 600 gph ro. Just in case I ever need parts, like the high pressure pump, where is the best place to get them? (I emailed D&G also.) Is there a non-maple site where I can get the pump or parts for it? Also, what about sales/service near Northeast Ohio/NW Pennsylvania? Thanks

Leader had D&G make ROs for them for many years. I think many parts are interchangeable. I got a pressure pump from them several years ago. They had an exchange program. I had a problem with a seal on my pressure pump this year. D&G sent me the wrong part. Leader (Mike Emerson) immediately knew what part I needed and had it in stock. Now that Leader is making their own ROs I'm hoping they will continue to support the D&G made ones they used to sell.
It is worth checking the amperage of your RO pump motors at the beginning and end of each season. Keep a record of this. Those pumps start to draw more amps when they start dragging and overheat the motor. It's MUCH better to take your RO apart in the off season. As far as I know any RO pump or motor will need to be rebuilt eventually. I've had the motor catch on fire! Sometimes the bearings or pumps start making a different noise. Sometimes the seals fail and sap starts spraying around.
All in all ROs are essential to efficient maple production. Do preventative maintenance and/or be prepared to boil raw sap while you are repairing the RO.
