My wife and I just returned from a well deserved 12 day Baltic Sea cruise. Knowing that they would not have any Maple syrup on the ship I decided to take some of my own. I saved it until the last full day and then enjoyed it in the dining hall.
I was getting quite the looks from fellow passengers as I broke the seal and poured over my French toast.

I wasn't sure if the small bottle would actually make it through all the security checks so I had the well packaged bottle in my checked baggage rather than my carry on. Nothing quite like a small taste of home when you are so far away.
Next time I will take an 8oz. bottle so I can enjoy it a few times rather than just the last day.

I learned the hard way to never travel without syrup on our trip the island of Curacao earlier this year. I'll be checking a quart next time I head for the islands. I couldn't eat the stuff they had, I would have been thrilled to even get Aunt Jemina.....it was that bad! I actually shipped some down there to our charter boat captain, he wanted 3 quarts.

went to AZ a few weeks ago, when asked at airport if I had anything liquids in checked baggage I said yes a qt of maple syrup. First time i have been asked this question, I always put a couple in checked baggage. well the lady made me open my suitcase pull it out show her. She said I have to buy a 5 dollar bubble wrap bag from them in order to leave it in suitcase. Her reason was it could open and ruin other peoples property. So for now on Im not going to say a word.
Southwest is still the best airline out there will continue to travel with them.
