I use my Wes Fab filter press pump to pump unheated syrup around when I need to and lately it's been making a loud buzzing sound whenever syrup is moving through the pump. When I turn it on, it's very quiet and sounds normal but when it's under a full load, it starts the buzzing sound but then stops when it's finished pumping. I thought it was the metal housing vibrating but I've tried holding different parts but it keeps buzzing.
I wouldn't mind so much but it's very loud. So much so that if you are close to it you should really wear ear plugs. Does anyone else have this problem or thoughts on what might be causing it?

Bearings may be shot. I bought a new diaphragm pump from zorro.com and love it.
Have you greased it? Make sure it is food grade grease. Also, you may need to tighten the packing nut just a slight amount.

mountainvan, which one did you buy? I see 2 by WARREN-RUPP. One at about $180, another at about $260. Both are rated for 175 F, the others seem to be rated for 150 F. Also, what compressor are you running it on? I have a few, (4) ranging from small up to a gas powered medium size one. It likely only needs a small compressor, is that right?

I have Milwaukee pancake compressor. One of the best buys I've made in 24 yrs of sugaring.
This one is rated for 220 degrees. https://www.zoro.com/warren-rupp-double-diaphragm-pump-air-operated-220f-wr10kp5bkk9/i/G2116721/ I just finished my second season with it. I know of a couple others on here that have this pump. I have not tried to pump cold syrup with it. I run it with a small pancake. You will not need a bypass as you can control pump speed with a ball valve on the airline. I would not go back to a gear pump. This year I ran an extra hose from the air exhaust outside the sugarhouse. This makes the pump very quiet.

Are you guys running some kind of inline air filter between compressor and pump and if so what kind??
I use more of a moisture filter. Has little beads that are suppose to change color from moisture. Can't remember what it is called.

Here's my setup, not completed, but shows the moisture trap.
