Is a drop flue more efficient than a raised flue. Seems like stack temps are lower with a drop flue

Too many variables. Small rigs yes, any other rig and you will get 11 different opinions from 10 different sugarmakers.

Someone once pointed out that if one or the other was considerably more efficient, that's what everyone would be using.

Personally, I really like being able to run my syrup pan pretty deep (2-3 inches) and my sap pan really shallow (1/4" or less). The only way I know to do this is with a raised flue rig.
