How to measure RO unit capacity - is it the permeate output or amount of sap processed?
I have been just figuring it is the amount of sap I process in an hour but got to wondering if it is the amount of permeate produced.
I guess in the world of non-sap RO it would be the amount of pure water produced eh!

It is the amount of raw sap processed under ideal conditions. According to a rep I spoke with before getting ours, that is with 40 to 45 degree sap, however, as the sap temperature drops, so does the performance.

As Sugar Daddy says it's raw sap processed. That's what you care about. The membranes are rated based on permeate flow at some standard conditions on water. Sap temperature, sugar content in and out and system pressure all affect the performance along with the membrane type.
