I poured 1.5 gallons of syrup into a pot last night( should have used bigger as it was only 2-3 inches from the top) but anyway, turned on the stove at 6:00 p.m planning to make sugar,at 9:30 p.m it was just reaching butter temperature,so quit at 9:40 p.m,and turned it into butter this morning. It is a ceramic top stove, one minute it is ready to boil over, few minutes later, same setting, barely boiling. Thinking about getting the propane portable stove from the trailer. Also, for those who have the paddle style cream machines,do you cook your syrup in the pan,or dump the syrup in after it is cooled?
Thanks
