I had this pump rebuilt and so it should be good but all I can get is 150 psi with 3/4 hp motor. is there some adjustment screw to increase pressure? I need to get to 210 psi I believe. This unit is doing a job ok but I need it higher pressure as the big run is about to come!!!!

On the inlet side of the pump is an "acorn nut" that covers the relief valve. If you remove the acorn nut you will have access to the slotted adjustment screw. Turn it clockwise to increase pressure.
Disclaimer: Procon does not recommend adjusting the relief valve in the field.

If you go to page 34 of this document it has a diagram and instructions to do this.

Hmm that is interesting. I wonder what the psi standard is if the relief valve is set to 90 psi. I thought these pumps were reated up to 240 psi. Should I forget the warning and screw her in a notch??

How are you feeding the pump? Do you have a booster/lift pump before it?

I'm sure the pump is rated to at least 250 psi. The problem is the internal relief valve. Because these pumps are used in so many different applications ProCon offers them with 4 different pressure relief ranges and a no setting. If your pump has a 151 to 250 psi internal relief you should be able to adjust it up. If it has the 100 to 150 psi internal relief it won't go any higher. You might be able to buy another relief. Another potential issue is the pump capacity. If you increase the pressure you may overwhelm the 3/4 HP motor. If you can send the model number of the pump I can look at their data sheet to see which pump you have.

So thanks for the help. I undid the acorn nut on the side of the pump and turned it clockwise as the manual said. It said not to do in the field so of I course I did the adjustments in the sirop camp ;)
I turned it 1 full screw and tested and after 3 turns I got it up to 240 psi which is plenty for me.

All working well now.
