I'm boiling on a home made wood fired arch
With a 2x3 flat pan with dividers with a 6inch stack and
I was wondering if it is recommended that I add a damper to the stack to keep all my heat from going right up the stack. Boiling about 5 gals an hour. Thanks

Don't add a damper. You want the fire to be as hot as possible. If you haven't already add a blower to make it hotter.

It is not a good idea to add one. It will restrict your draft and slow your boil, an evaporator will run a lot higher stack temps than a wood stove.
