Buddy Syrup

Can you make maple sugar with buddy syrup? When you make sugar does the syrup have to be filtered? Trying to get my money out of the season.:lol:

You can make sugar with buddy syrup but the flavor can come through depending upon how buddy the syrup is. I have not tried it with unfiltered syrup so I can't speak to that.

I have been told by someone that makes lots of sugar that it is best to not use sugar made from buddy syrup for cotton candy as it can really bring back the flavor. If it is being used as a sweetener in products that have other strong flavors (meat packing for instance) it is fine.
