Hydrometer reading and temperature

In determining when you have syrup, does either the current barometric pressure or the temperature affect your reading of the hydrometer or is all you need to watch is the red line?

temperature of the syrup will effect the hydrometer. the top red line is the line to use right off the evaporator. there is a compensation chart that will show where you need to be at different temperatures!
