I'm looking to get a 2'x4' evaporator set up for next year. Does anyone have experience with Sunrise or A&A Metal shop units of this size?

I looked at a Sunrise Spitfire before buying my Mason. I chose the Mason 2x4 XL.

We use Sunrise 2.5x8 W/extreme flue pan ,all welded construction , does A&A still use solder? Check it out before buying

A&A are Amish... so yes they are lead free solder. Not sure why people shy away from soldered pans. All I run is soldered pans. Never an issue. Never heard of any advantage to welded pans.
Soldered joints can crack and leak over time from moving the pans around especially on bigger pans. Welded joints are rugged and won't crack plus are smoother.

Sunrise is Amish also, but make welded pans. Welded pans are more durable and more tolerant of being abused (run dry). In normal operation, no real advantages to welded, but if you have an accident, the difference may mean you don't need a new set of pans.

I just got back from A&A today. If you aren't scared of solder, go for it. Andy is legit. Smart guy, and willing to build whatever customers ask for. He is all fired up (pun intended) over Air Over Fire now. Awesome place to do business. Closest dealer for you who uses a phone is Ray Gingrich in Orwell Ohio. He sends build sheets to Andy and they get trucked to his place. Rays number is 440-422-3047 If you want to do business direct with Andy, you have to write him a letter or drive there. I have an old thread with price list from 2014 on here. I will try and get pics posted tonight from his shop along with a current price list.
