We got a pretty good run last week but the sap went bad in the warm weather. I couldn't get to it fast enough. It was still running clear. We were going to pull taps but this weather might spark a good run. All the sugars we have tapped show no sign of budding. What are everyone else's thoughts .

Done here in Woodstock. We could have used this weather two weeks ago. But, I'm out of wood and energy anyway.

I am holding out also. I think we should get some more usable sap in the week or weeks to come. You just got to believe.

We're still going. Buried in snow today. 17° and winds. Will see what happens. A good year for us. 3,000 gallons of sap on 450 taps, about 60 gallons syrup.

Well western NY property facing east on a hill. Still plugged in but skeptical. Very poor year here, less than half the yield of last year. Bushes starting to bud but nothing on the maples yet.

Still have 600 buckets out, everything is frozen solid. No tree buds in sight here in my neck of the woods.
Made 116 gallons all dark this year. Hoping for one or two more runs!

It would be nice to just have one more good run. This is the first year with tubing and we were tapped the 26th of January. I thought for sure we were done but last week when I saw 400 gallons in the tank I was mesmerized. It went bad in the tank but was still running crystal clear. The 3/16 tubbing has made me a believer.

Still going here in my woods. This is my 5th year and the first year I have made syrup before April 1st. I have already made more than I ever have and the frost is still in the ground. Even the few soft maples I have are not even thinking of budding. I have always boiled till the last week of April but may end sooner this year. Time will tell. I'm still making a light med. Got to love the RO.

It looks like we'll have a nice run up here in Potsdam on the 6th and 7th of March. I've been cleaning and preparing. I don't want to miss a drop.

I would still be going strong but ran out of wood two weekends ago. I need to be better prepared for next year and one way I will do it is to invest in an ro

Still going here, or should say waiting to go depending on what happens after this freeze up. Wood has been an issue with us also. After the Easter weekend gush we took turns tending the evaporator and cutting wood. We have enough left for one more boil and are close to our goal of 100 gallons. Once we hit the mark we will probably pull the plug and move on. Planning for an RO next year as well.

praying that we have a another week here in Bangor/Malone....had a rough season thanks to poor planning on my part, and want to get at least another 1/2gal in before I pull.

I saw some buds on some reds (?) a couple weeks ago, but we keep getting cold snaps which seem to be keeping them closed.

We had a good strong run yesterday (4/11) and through the night here in Potsdam. The weather forecast looks good for one more day, and then it warms up and doesn't come back down. Last year it ended on the 12th

Wow, good for you. We've had rain, fog, high winds. Flowers coming up. How many taps do you have, vacuum? How much have you made?

I think I just finished the last of the sap. We got 1100 gallons since Thursday. That brings us to 8100 gallons on roughly 575 taps. That's also not counting the 900 we had to dump because it went bad on us in the warm weather. We have made between 140 -150 gallons of syrup. The sugar content has 1.5 pretty much all year. I'm not sure we can top a year like this. We had 400 on 3/16 gravity and the rest were buckets. The buckets have been done for weeks but the 3/16 is ripping.

Still going here in Duane NY. Been in a deep freeze for the last week. Got 200 Gal.today and made 6 gal. of med syrup. Sap tested 2.4 and the frost is still in the ground deep on the mountain. Looking forward to the next 5 days.

I finished up a few weeks ago, but only today got back to my 3/16 lines. I could see that the tank was full, but I was not sure I would find when I took the lid off. Well, it was not only cloudy, but ropy, and every other possible name you can think of for thick and gooey sap, with about an inch of this stuff stuck to the bottom of the drum. But that's not why I'm adding this note. These four lines (75 taps) were still running. We have not had freezing temps in days, maybe a week. A hard freeze is expected tonight, so they might run for another few days. 3/16 never ceases to amaze.

I gathered 300 gallons of sap this morning from about 300 buckets, and cooked it all today...14 hours is a long work day, but hey, I made $300 dollars worth of syrup, so I'll get over it. This evening's weather forecast shows maybe two more days before it warms up for good.

Gathered another 100 gallons this morning and made syrup a whole color grade lighter than a few days ago...easier to filter too. How does THAT work??
