I just pulled my taps, and am shutting down this year with my cinder block arch. I just got access to a oil tank, and want to do one for next year. Would you PLEASE show me some pics of your oil tank evaporator? inside and out if possible, thanks I could use the pics, because my buddy is a retired welder , and these would really come in handy. I would like to get it going this year, but it may have to wait until next season

There is a group on this site called OTE Oil Tank Evaporators with several pictures of converted 275 gal oil tanks. I have several of mine on there. I'd be happy to help out with any questions.

I don't suppose you have measurements of you arch ?
I have searched hours & hours on the Internet as well as here.
Would like to improve on the design I currently have now.
I would appreciate it.

wood nor oil

There are tons of designs on this forum for wood fired evaporators.
Unfortunately, this will entail lots of time searching through the posts.
Finding an oil fired tank design is worse.
You may want to look up different arch designs for wood fired as well.
Good Luck

We (one of the guys is a welder) made a wood fired one this year. I would be happy to send you measurements pics whatever to help. What size tank you have? I don't know what exactly ours was but alot depends on your pans. We bought a 2x3 pan with a 18in Sq warming pan. You will have to adjust any design to fit your pans.

The area of the fire box is about 2x4 then the ceramic blanket and brick take up some room. Over the years I have experimented with different fire box and burner nozzle configurations.

This rig was built by a high school kid as his senior project many years ago. I have used it for the last 10 years. If I where to build one today I would do it differently than this. I would extend the main fire area back further as I don't think a ramp is that vital for oil and this would help with flame impingement. With my 2 x 4 Small Brothers lightning pan and a 2.5gal/hr B nozzle at 140psi I averaged about 26gal/hr.

I am upgrading this year and I will be selling this rig.
