Can you reuse a disposable pre-filter? I know they are disposable, but I didn't know if they were single use only. Thanks for the help!

I have washed and reused mine many times. Use at least four layers, so if the efficiency is dropping each time it is washed, the sediment has to get through three others plus the orlon filter.

wash them out with as hot of water as you have. Preferably with a spray hose and use them until they discolor

After you rinse them out, you can throw them in the washing machine with just plain, hot water....no soap.

If you ever took a washing machine apart to repair it, you wouldn't even want to wash your clothes in one again.

I rinse mine with hot water after each use then boil them at the end of the season. Filters start to get discolored after a couple of uses especially if they are the first to be pulled off and they sit until the end of the boil to get cleaned, so I don't use that as a judge when to toss them. That said, I don't have an exact number of uses when I do. I have a bunch, so I often rotate some newer ones into the job. The ones I eventually did toss were starting to feel too flimsy and soft. They probably went through about 200+ gallons. For me, that works out to years of use.
