First time tapping my trees in Lowell, Maine. 15 miles south of Lincoln. Put taps in Feb 20. Had one good run around Mar 10. A second small run March 17. Now just a few drips and drops in the afternoon here and there. Today, we have 4+ inches of snow on the ground already, thanks to storm Regis. Did miss maple season or is it still to come?

9 trees with buckets + a turkey fryer ready to go!

Like sap seeker said, sit tight, it's been a weird season for sure.....mine have not had a super strong run really yet either, with maple sunday this weekend I'm a bit on edge. It should let go Friday and Saturday by the looks of the weather.

Like everyone else has said, hang in there. I as well have not had any big runs, looks like it might turn for the better within the next couple of days.

My trees are mostly dried up. A few are trickling, but I've done my (just under) 9 gallons for the season from the early runs in late January/Feb. I've officially called "taps" 13917

Who is hosting Maine Maple Sunday events in this area? I would love to check some out!

Looks like a couple participating sugar houses in Lee would be your closest options, check out Maine.gov, lots more details on the Department of agricultural and forestry website. Running pretty good here this afternoon although not all that warm, coming your way soon enough.

You should find something in your buckets at the end of today Page Meadow, expecting a good run today in central Maine even minus the sun.

I did indeed! And I tapped a few more trees for good measure so now I have 15 buckets. The sap is crystal clear!

False alarm! Good thing I didn't pull taps when I said I would. Just got 38 gallons of clear in the last two day's surprise run.

Just got done collecting from today's run, got 475 gallons. Had to leave just over 200 in the woods, my coercion tank I. My truck was full to the brim. Still only at 1.7% but I'll take it. It is getting cloudy but I'm not complaining. Got 218 gallons on a pipeline of 165 taps on a shurflo pump with 15" of vacuum. ....I would say it did it's job today :)

Page meadow Im over in Carroll plt. not to far from you. There is a nice modern sugarhouse in Kossuth called Chandlers Sugar Shack where I sell my sap. They have a big turnout for Maine Maple Sunday with Maple Cotton Candy gotta love it

Thanks for telling me about Chandlers, wurmdert. I will check it out.

I am hoping for big sap run today and tomorrow. Just bought 20 more buckets! I have only made a few bottles of syrup so far, but it is delicious and very satisfying to make it myself. Really enjoying the whole experience.

Great day today. Every bucket was brimming with crystal clear sap! Very exciting (but exhausting) for a first timer. Going to need more collection buckets and more boiling power. My two turkey fryers cannot keep up.

Any guesses about how much longer this stuff is going to run?!!

Im hoping we can get through this warm stretch next couple of days with the things going down hill, looks like cold again first of the week. Take all we can get.
