I am new to this and just bought a new smoky lake pan. I would like to make a parallel heater for it. I plan on making a hood and mounting the parallel heater in the hood. If I mount the heater with a 6 inch slope will that be enough to keep cond. from dropping in my pan? I plan to have a drain on the bottom part of the header to catch the condensation, or do I have to have a pan the same size as the parallel heater to catch the condensation?
Drip pans are usually a little bigger than the preheater.

Check the homemade equipment forum. That's where I found the information I needed to build mine. Most of the posts have pictures too.
You can use a length of 1/16 aluminum angle under each pipe, which drains to the low end and into your drip channel. Check some pictures and you'll get the idea.

Do you have plans for that? More pictures?

Sorry, no plans. All I did was build a 3/4" manifold at each end using 3/4x3/4x1/2 copper tees and connect them together with 1/2" copper pipe. I made sure the pipe was sloped up towards the exit and added a vent to the top to release the steam. The drip trays are simply pieces of aluminium flashing bent into a V-shape with one under each pipe. You can also go with one large drip pan instead of the individual drip trays.
