I got 8 gallons of sap today from 21 of 25 taps here in Southern NH - 4 taps not producing at all. Do the larger trees take longer to get going? My high producers right now seem to be mid-sized trees in the 10 to 12 inch range.

I started tapping Friday, and pretty well finished today. I've haven't seen much of a run here yet.

An old friend told me years ago that the snow needs to melt down to the base of the trees first. I wasn't sure he was right, and didn't want him to be. But as time goes on, I've seen that to be pretty true. I don't get too anxious to tap early when there's much snow anymore. Also, the breeze we had today was from the east and south. For decent flow, I think a west wind, or even north, is best.

I haven't finished tapping but the ones tapped were real slow to day and yesterday. About 150 tapped and only 40 gal sap. Your friend might be right. I have 2-4 feet of snow depending on which part of the woods it's in, near sugarhouse 2 ft and back in woods 4' in many places. They haven't thawed yet.

285 gallons from 500 taps. The big trees were just starting to run. It didn't freeze very hard last night and it is supposed to be warmer today. Hopefully that will make it bust loose but it probably won't.

90 gal on 200 buckets. My ratio seemed to coincide with the others on here.

I collected about 20 gallons from 78 taps. many had only a 2 to 3 inch puddle on the bottom of the buckets. A few of them had 1/3 pail. The ones that ran pretty well were right next to some that ran very little. I would have expected more with the temps and all the sun yesterday. Oh well....I'll keep waiting for it to really start. The snow is a real pain in the butt! I think I will be on snowshoes for the rest of my life.....

my buckets are running about a gal per tap average yesterday- all roadside 18"+ diameter trees

my sugarbush (west facing) is only producing .3 gal per tap (tubing on gravity...vacuum not set up yet)

I've been averaging 1/2 gal per tap the last few days. Normally I'd expect 1 gal per tap

Much of mine started yesterday. Warmed up and i think the deep woods trees are finally thawing. I will collect mid morning and then have some numbers for more precise evaluation.
