Love the photo. I've never tasted dark syrup, but I'm sure it is delicious. :)

I like dark syrup the best. But I seem to end up with light syrup almost every time. I finally made some darker syrup this year, but I had to almost burn my syrup accidentally for it to happen.

Last year everything I made throughout the season was the same medium amber color. I only got a dark syrup on the last day cooking up the dregs.

13861Here's what I got from. Feb 13 first boil to March 10, 8 short boils totaling just under 5 gal. (We've had some breakfasts! ) Surpassed my goal of 3-4 gal.! Thanks for all the info MapleTrader, joining your forum was very helpful as a second year rookie. With all the info I've gotten here, I now feel as though I am a
veteran "sugarer"- not! Plenty to learn, awlays looking for a faster boil time, easier collecting, and of coarse MORE TREES!
Thanks everyone

That's some "fancy" syrup you get there(Karen)looks as light as the sun. Thank you and I can't wait until next year allready. Got all sorts of great ideas here at The Trader, cant wait to implement them.
Thanks again for all the support Maple Trader and all its members, you've all made it easier to enjoy my new hobbie!
