soap wash

How often do you do a soap wash? How do you tell when you need to or do you just do it every time you use the machine? I have a Deer Run 125 the instructions do not say to do it every time but I'm curious if it would be beneficial.

I have a deer run 250 and for the last 3 years only do the warm water wash every run and soap every 3-4 runs or if extended period of non use. My membranes still flow %110
