I need to replace my old copper 3/4 inch draw off valve on the syrup pan. I was thinking of replacing it with stainless, should I keep it at 3/4 or go to an inch?

Does the pan have 3/4" or 1" outlet? If its 3/4 you will get into more than you bargain for trying to change it to 1". If it is already 1" go for it! I had a Leader 2x6 with 3/4" drawoffs for 10 years and never saw a need for 1".

Thanks for the info, the existing outlet is 3/4. I thought where I had it apart I would switch over to stainless steel valve.

I agree it maybe more work then you bargin for tring to replace the nipple. If you have a 3/4 nipple with no leaks i would stick with it, 3/4 inch pipe wide open will draw a lot of syrup.
