Starting to get cloudy sap here in Battle Creek as of yesterday. Just curious... will last nights 30 degrees take the cloudiness out of the sap and make it clear again for a few more days or will it continue to stay cloudy? Never been through a season like this one.

I'm near the Grand Haven area and my sap was cloudy within a day of collecting it this week. I'm keeping a close eye on it, as I won't be able to boil until tomorrow (Saturday). It doesn't have an odor so I don't think it's spoiling, however it's likely going to be a Grade B darker syrup.

I collected sap on Monday that was clear and buried in a snowbank and still clear, some of the stuff collected yesterday was cloudy and boiled that first but if you can get it buried in snow will help it from getting any cloudier I would think.
I was lucky and had a big snow pile from plowing.

Was driving through Tuscola County today and saw a bunch of trees that had bud out

Well its done here for me in Sanford MI.
I just checked my line. I do have some sap running again today. I am going to let it go overnight pull tomorrow mid day and pull my taps. The sap is going cloudy on me.
Its been a fairly good year for me I am currently at 8 3/4 gallons finished with more going still now and I will likely get 15-30 gallons tomorrow as a final.

Boiling today. Saps cloudy. Flavor is a little off, but I wouldn't say it's bad. I'm likely making a good ham glaze or beer stout additive. Not sure this batch will qualify as table syrup, very dark. About 75% of my trees are budding here in Grand Haven.
