Found this in the wood pile tonight. Came from a blow down in the bush last year. Counted the rings best I could back to the old holes.

It's interesting to see how large the hole is where the tree grows over the outside of the hole.

Yeah, my neighbor cut down this 4' diameter tree, one of my favorites for sap. You can see the huge scars near the middle. The tree is estimated to be about 250 years old...1370913710
