we gathered about 200 gals and flooded the pans and only had about 100 left . so we decided to sweeten up the pans but only boiled for 47 minutes and drew off a 1/2 gallon of syrup. i could not beleave how fast my rig is. 4x12 oil fired with no preheater or r/o 950 taps on pipe line.my evap used to be wood and we converted to oil with two beckette oil burners running 4.50 gph each.

yeah i move my vacation up 2 weeks because the way the weather looked we would be able to tap but then it turned cold for a week. so now this week it will run like hell and i'll have to work. i have a total of about 200 more i could hang so i'll probably do that this weekend if we get a little break. nee more sap to gather when the weather turns warm. need to make all i can to get some money back out of it. stop in some time and shoot the @#$#! next week you will probably be to busy!!!
Treefinder,
How has the season treated you so far? We boiled the other night but that sap didn't have much sugar in it. Stop up if you get a chance.

my sap only tested 2.0% we gathered about 150 on weds night didn't draw any syrup though i'm still figuring out my rig seeing i put in 2 fuel guns in the front. the front boils faster than the back so its just a matter of setting the float so it keeps up.but i do have about 3 gals in the front pan thats ready to draw off.i'll stop up to see the steamaway in action.kevin
4x12 oil fired
950 taps all tubing
