View Full Version : Bump sound in front pan
I am boiling right now. My front pan is making a bump sound and jumping once or twice a minute. What is it and how do I fix it

Probably just un-uniform (if that's a word) heating of the pan, making it flex. Shouldn't hurt anything.
Hope so. It 65 degree out wondering if that has something to do with it
It might be the wind. I have everything open. I would rather deal with the fly's than the heat

Any critters trapped in the arch.......should stop soon

No critter but when it got cool I closed up and it stopped. Another hour and I will shut down. We will see about clean up tomorrow

I get it all the time. I haven't seen it jump, but it sounds like a knock or a thump on the arch or pan. It's just the expansion and contraction of the metal after an uneven firing.

When I had that bumping sound it was niter coming loose and I was actually scorching the pan slightly underneath that, my rule of thumb is I hear the thump I stop and clean the pans out
