Hi all. I'm a small sugar maker in upstate NY. Like many others, I've dreamed of having an RO to speed up my boiling. I have a Leader 2x6 with a hood and a Grimm pre heater. I average around 1 gallon of syrup an hour on this rig.
A few weeks ago I met someone that had bought a sugar makers estate sale. This guy had tons of goodies. He still had everything from the 4x12 evaporator to the 3,000 buckets. While looking around, I noticed the RO. It's a Waterloo Seprotech. The model number on the tag is no longer readable. I don't know how many gph this thing is. The owner said he was told it was bought new in the late 90s and used until the previous owner's death in 2008. Looooong story short, I bought it and a couple tanks.
Where do I start? I don't plan on using the RO this year as I intend on putting an addition on the sap house. I have tried searching on google for RO setup, but had limited success. Is there any links here for setting up an RO for newbies? I'm a pretty handy person, but I have to admit that this thing looks a little intimidating.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the sideways pics. I'm not sure how to correct that.
