I'm wondering what everyone else's ratios are this season so far. Mine seem to be high and would like to compare it to others. I'm in Luzerne county.
Feb 15.......67-1
Feb 19.......80-1
Feb 22.......50-1
Feb 29.......73-1

I don't have a sap hydrometer to check sugar content...yet.

You must be boiling 1% sap to 1.5%

I average 80 - 1 as well. Woodlot red maples around here do not have good sugar content but that is all I have.

Season average at 1.96% 7.8/397 . We'll see what happens when we boil this weekend.

Figured mine today at 77.5-1. Going to have to boil more to get less this year.

Boiled 150 gallons water made 2.8 gallons syurp. 1.8%. Seems to be the norm for this season. Does anybody have a theory on the low percentages this year? I tap 39 sugar maples and 4 soft maples ,they are all located in the woods, no "yard trees",all are a minimum of 12 to 18 inches in diameter chest high. Any thoughts?
