I used my refractometer and hydrometer last night filtering my second batch of the season both about 1 gallon each 🤗🤗😏the first batch hit 66brix perfectly last nights batch hit 67brix am I safe at 67 to still be called maple syrup🍁🍁🍁

God, I hate myself for referencing that genre of "music".



67 Should be fine, I think that is/was the standard in VT. Worst case scenario, slightly heavy syrup forms crystals.

I believe 65.9 to 68.9 is all good better to be a little heavy than a little light. Seems to me that I read somewhere (maybe Mike Farrells book) 67 is starting to be preferred and I think he recommended 67. 66.9 is minimum in Vermont.
