Hey all, we have had a busy off-season. We added a 7x14 addition to the sugarhouse, installed a new leader preheater and hood, put out 125 new gravity taps, tapped an area with gravity tubing that has normally been tapped with 50 buckets and added new storage tank to replace the galvanized ones.
We tapped everything on the 19th and it has run well, as we gathered 500 gallons in two days. Only tests to 1.5%, but we will take it. This has been a good test for our new preheater increasing our boiling rate by 18%. We went from 33gph to 39gph and we have hot water!
Hopefully the weather will stay with us and everyone has a great season.

330 taps gravity and 20 buckets
2x6 grimm lightning evaporator with blower and preheater
2 black labs and 2 junior sap haulers

Wow I guess you have been busy. I was scrambling all weekend to put a few more lines up and tap and hook up vacuum pump and chase leaks. Managed to get a minimal 90 gallons in a day and a half. Did get to almost sweeten the pans on Sunday night. Hope this season is better than the last few.
What part of Bridgewater are you from?
