Made the 3/16 jump from buckets this year. Was able to tap today. Right after tapping all runs were dripping. Not much but the temperature was dropping. Finished up tapping using a headlamp then walked some lines. I only have 3 vacuum gauges so one of my runs doesn't have a gauge. A couple hours after tapping one gauge was already reading 8 on the vacuum gauge. Other two gauges are automotive style with vacuum and pressure. These two runs were reading 2-3 psi.
Now lines were starting to freeze.
Do other people see this slight positive pressure under conditions when the lines are freezing??
Little cold snap next couple days so I will wait and see what happens. Looks like Wednesday may be warmer.

Well the weather started to warm (mid 30's and rain). The gauges which has positive readings have changed. One gauge showed 14 on the vacuum side and the other 4. Lines were still covered with ice and it looked like just starting to run. Can't wait to see numbers when things start running.

This! Crazy. I'd take pictures of my 28" vacuum gauges but I've been too busy boiling!

When our taps were running yesterday I had a slight positive pressure in one of my lines. Sap was moving fairly quickly through the line at the bottom of the hill but very slowly at the top. Had a blockage from a piece of wood shaving in the middle.
