Anyone ever have sap thats not perfectly clear in color.
First year tapping and a couple trees put out more of a slight yello ting sap.
Its still clear, not milky.

I'm on all buckets and some of my trees had a slight yellow to them right after I tapped them but today they all ran clear.

My red maple did that yesterday. The first hour or two after tapping I got some cloudy yellow tinted sap in the bucket. I poured it into a separate container and let the tree run some more and it looked better. Today's sap looks normal. I only got about a quart from that tree so I'm OK with not putting it in my blend.

Taste it first to verify that the off color sap is okay then mix it right in with the rest of your sap and boil it. Some of the best tasting syrup that I have made was made with off colored sap.
