I'm tired of reading discussions about "cheap" drums and tanks that contained other products and how to clean / make them safe / get the odours out in the hopes of saving a few $$.

I know it's hard to put a price on safety and the potential risks of these other substances, but maybe the prices we post for new products will put some of these "bargains" into perspective. Especially when you consider that most new tanks will last 25+ years if stored out of the sun.

Can we start a list here of sources for NEW clean FOOD SAFE storage tanks and drums that others can refer to?

I'll start

TSC offers Leg Style tanks in various sizes. (prices $US as of posting)
35 gal $99 SKU 213732499
65 gal $199 SKU 213731699
TSC here offers a ship-to store option if they are not in stock locally.

ULine offer new FDA compliant drums in various sizes in both open top and closed styles
30 gal closed $64
55 gal closed $69
http://www.uline.com/BL_8154/Plastic-Drums

Various maple distributors also offer new drums and tanks at reasonable price.

Please add your sources for NEW FOOD SAFE storage drums and tanks below.

might want to add that with the ULine, the shipping can be over $100.....to get a 55gal drum closed lid shipped to me it would cost over $180.....

Baytec containers has free shipping. They are about $100 which is what I have seen most places have.

I suspect most of the people looking for discounted used barrels are small time weekend hobbyists like myself.

There are also many industrial services that will clean barrels for you if you don't want to yourself.

Try a local maple dealer. Most have 30 40 and 50 gal blue drums.... no shipping and reasonable prices.

I've had great luck with http://www.northerntool.com. We picked up my horizontal leg tanks, not sure about their shipping prices.
