How was the sap running for you today? Not as good as what I expected down here

Maplewalnut, i had a very good run saturday and not much of a freeze sat night. Sunday they ran slow. A good start for us. Now we wait and see. Temps are going to be borderline for us the next few days. They might run they might not.

Hey Dave, what's your syrup total so far?

Just bottled last night and came up with 14.5 gallon of bottled maple syrup as of 2-10-16 my last maple boil. Please talk to my trees or send some sugar my direction as my boil to bottle ratio was 81 to 1 . Money for RO would also be fine !

Without sap Sunday I used the day to drain and clean and wash the pan, barrels, pails etc. Sap ran great this afternoon and evening. After running all night I should have a lot to boil on Monday. This is one of the best starts to the season I remember. Hope we don't get skunked later in March. Also used the evening to brew up some homebrew!!:D

Pulled in another 60 gallons of sap today. No freeze since Sunday and still running and nice and clear. Sugar content still 2% or better . Tonights boil did result in a drop to very dark.

Boiled down another 91 gallons today. Looks like it is going below freezing Fri and Sat nights. Silver and reds have budded but sugars are still looking great! Might get to make some more. Not pulling my taps till I know it is over.
