Got 160 taps in on tubing yesterday. Things were running well on all sides of the trees. Some shaded trees were just waking up. Forecast looks good for the foreseeable future - something we haven't had for a few years. I'll get the buckets out in the next couple of days and that will bring me to 200 this season.

What a monster start to the season. So much for a slow wake up for the trees. They gushed in the heat of the weekend. Last year I boiled 2,000 gallons for the season. I have 650 gallons in as of late last night. That's about a third of last year's total in five days. These multi-day runs are tough. I'm tired.
