Wood stove to a pellet stove?

Gathering wood is fun and I enjoy doing it but do pellets burn hotter? I was thinking adding one of the these pellet mods in my evaporator with a blower. I don't know if this is an idea already thrown around already but it just seems the smaller the burning size the hotter13107 the fire.

I was wondering something similar; is anyone burning pellets instead of wood? Mainly because I do not have a huge reserve of wood this year. I figured I would use some kind of basket to hold them, but did not know there was one already available.
