We have been developing a tubing tool that would have a cutter, and insert the fittings:cool: via rechargeable battery. We have been working out the quirks and field testing it for two years. We are putting in a 1000 tap bush as we speak and will post our details. You press the trigger and it does all of the work for you in less than 4 seconds. Would anyone be interested? Oh yeah, I almost forgot that is only weighs a couple ounces more than a two handed tubing tool, without the work.

I will be posting pics and video as we go. And yes you can use it to put together drops. Last year we put together 250 drops, tap and t complete drops, with one battery.

Anxiously awaiting the battery model. Pics or video, but video would be much more enjoyable.

Vaporware - Microsoft used to do this all the time. You announce something that you don't really have, develop a buzz around it so when someone else releases it, people wait for your product.

It sounds like a Hot End system.

In the mean time, I make two handed tools with real vice grips, and a cutter that actually works for a lot cheaper than the catalog ones. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160301/71d9ee9d351875f37eaed64f44fc5a48.jpg

This was a prototype that I made 3 years ago. We have put this thing thru the wringer. I cannot post the maker of the rechargeable unit, so please do not ask. I have to say that I thought I would adapt it many times by now, but have made very few changes. It really works great, we use it to put together drops in the shop and install lines in the woods. When we run our lateral lines we pull the lat. thru the woods, securing the end of line fitting with the tool. Then we go along with the tool locking the grips on the lateral line just below the tree to be tapped and cut the lateral line between the clamps. Most times if the lateral lines are pulled tight it will open the tool for you, but sometimes you have to pull it apart, which is very easy. Position the T on the drop between the clamps and press the button. Because of the gearing in the unit the battery will last all day! Yes I have installed 300 drops with one battery in one day, no kidding one battery. We are adding 1200 lines this year and have been testing our redesign of this tool. We will be adding videos of this in action soon.

It looks heavy and cumbersome, is it? Is it fast or slow?

That looks very clever! Nice work. Let's see a video of it in action.

It weighs a little more than a two handed tubing tool, and is faster than a one handed tool by far. Ever try to use a two handed manual tool in the woods? One hand to hold the T and where do you get the third hand. Now having learned how to push the left lever with my left inner thigh or my belly to get the T started then finish it with a squeeze from both hands. Or you need a helper with you. I have bad shoulders and would leave the woods with sore arms and shoulders that wouldn't hold up my arms. Now I can be in the woods all day and my shoulders, and arms do not hurt at all. I will be logging tomorrow but will post a video soon.
