just curious if anyone had an idea on how to get the curl out of line after it is off the coil?
i just got some 3/16 line and taps, and made a bunch of 4ft drop lines for buckets. i notice everything is in "C" shape. i put the taps in and hung them on a curtain rod, hoping gravity will straighten them out. but not too hopeful.

It's just the nature of the beast. If the line is pulled tight and left long enough, it will straighten. It may take summer temps to do it. The curl is just the memory in the tubing from when it was in a coil. It was coiled off the extruding machine that made it and was coiled while warm (or hot).

We laid them on the kitchen table and the sun did a fine job getting the 3" drops to relax. Didn't seem to take long.
Test will be what happens when they get out in the cold

If you really want to straighten them out, dunk them in a pot of really hot water for 15 seconds then hang them by the tap and they will cool and dry straight. That being said I don't see a huge advantage for the effort. Lee

thanks for the replies......i had the same problem with the 5/16 past couple years, but wasn't part of this great site for the info.
only problem i have found with the curl is i use milk jugs on the lines for collection, and the curl sometimes won't allow the jug to sit on the ground flat..........does sound like it would be more bother than it's worth to try and straighten though.
after putting these lines together i am really getting the bug to start tapping....have to finish my evaporator first though...lol
