Got down to -17+ last night without wind chill. The winds howled all night. Our windmills were screaming all night. We both fell asleep(I never sleep more than a couple hours at a time of course except last night)and the water pipe froze. Got fans going to thaw it out. Luckily can draw off hot water from the wood stove. We're at about 1,200 feet here. Hope everyone makes it through this.

Yikes thats cold! Yea about 10 degrees above here.
Hope you got the pipes thawed out.
I know I have buckets of 12% frozen almost solid in the sugarhouse from when I drained the rig.

Chris

We had -20 at my house in Potter Co. Pa. Only one frozen pipe. Only took about two minutes to thaw. Glad I didn't tap yet. Come on spring!

It was -23 here in Savoy at 2,000 ft. The wind was't bad at all. Went for a walk around 8 AM when it had warmed up to about -18 and full sun. Beautiful morning!

We actually got down to -22 just about 6:00 am, it is now +1 and is forecast to rise to about +5 before it drops again. They say -8 tonight, but then "they" said -14 for this morning. Wrong again!

-18 here this morning. Over 0 now especially in the sun. Going to tap some trees this afternoon and then get back to inside work.

The passive solar house I am building is 65F inside with no heat.

Well it is -9, this evening the assisted living housing facility in the village froze a water main and they have evacuated the entire facility...12-15 ambulances and 4 handicapped school buses were said to be moving residents to the health center up the street. Fireman said the entire basement is flooded.

Not liking the 1/4"to 1/2" of ice they are predicting we will get out of the next storm. That is going to make a mess in the bushes around.

Good Luck All!
