I just use hot hot water in the reverse direction of syrup flow. be gentle. i use the spray nozzle on my kitchen sink.

I also turn the water heater up so it is hotter than I can stand it. the hotter the water the faster it rinses out
I also turn the filters inside out so the flow is as the previous poster said.
NO SOAP!

Was reading not to ring them out and someone suggested to use a rolling pin.
I twisted mine to ring it out before I knew and believe it doesn't work as good now.
Now I will be letting them hang and drip dry, but since I do small batches I will now bag and freeze until next batch.
I also have 3 pre filters now.

If you've ever taken a washing machine apart, you wouldn't even want to wash your clothes in one. Behind that nice white tub is about the grossest slime imaginable.

I have no plans on using the washing machine. Going to boil out or freeze. Thanks again.

Absolutely no to using a washing machine. Period.
