Chris,
HP and I went over to Maple Tree Farm, Dean and Meg Wilber, to help put up the first sign. They have a maple orchard Dean planted 35 years ago. You'd like visiting the place; Dean would love talking with you. He loves the sign.

Actually Red Roof you are going to get sign #2 because you represent the quintessential New Englander: industrious, ingenuous, self-reliant, acute observer of nature. I'll bring it up to you!

Bring you up to speed; that's the doodlebug. I haven't reached the level where I get a ride yet, but Fancy has been seen in it.
Anyway, the signs will be distributed to the Directors and Dealers this week. Our open house system is overwhelmed this year but next year the Directors will probably insist that any open house in the system display the sign. I'm going to have a bunch of signs in Tamworth for the regional meeting Tuesday night.
Also just got an email from Fadden's general store in North Woodstock wanting one but told them they are on the waiting list!

Wow, I really appreciate that. Rosebud (the doodlebug) and I will be here to accept the sign and if time permits you will get a ride too. I will proudly display the new sign where everybody can see it.

We should have signs available this week through NHMPA Directors and Dealers. Do you know your local director? I believe there is a regional meeting coming up in Tamworth this week. Feel free to send me an email at chris@syrupbythesea.com and we will find a way to get you a sign!
Thanks,

Bruce just stopped by with my sign a little while ago and I can't wait to hang it on the building. Well I can wait until it is warm enough outside to do so. It's a balmy 3* with a cold breeze here today.

Here's Russ and I standing beneath the famous Red Roof. Chris, another spot you need to drop by sometime. Probably ought to map you out a tour?
Signs should start appearing this week. It will take a couple days to get them out to the Directors and Dealers. Hope folks post pixs on this thread so we can see their sugarhouses.

I don't think the doodlebug would start today. The battery is kind of weak as I have had to jump start it the last couple of times that it has sat for awhile. I have a new battery for it but I'm not changing it today.

Oh, and another one! Richard and Elaine Moore of Sunnyside Maples, holding their new sign and a rare copy of the old NHMPA membership sign, circa 19??. Anybody else got one of those? BTW, the new signs are now at Sunnyside, will be at Fadden' North Woodstock on Saturday and The Maple Guys in Wilton on Sunday. Also the directors have some. Be sure to post your pix!

Weather looks good statewide for Maple Weekend.
The NH Maple Producers Association has extensive TV ads running on WMUR, Manchester; Fox25 and NECN, Boston; also NHPR and 6 newspapers. 100 sugarhouses are listed on our website's interactive maps, which is also linked to the Dept of Tourism. This will draw tens of thousands of visitors. Please be sure your sugarhouses are reasonably clean.
Later in 2016, we will revamp all the advertising to prominently feature our new membership sign, as in, "Look For This Sign," etc. Anyone interested in having their operation featured, or would like to host any of the high profile events, please contact the Association via the website.

I'm hoping for a good turn out. I've got my sign hung, my sugarhouse clean and all of the value added products made. I also have 1000 gallons of sap to boil too. I'll probably be busy all day but right now I think I am in pretty good shape.
