Built a small fire to warm the pans. Drained the pans tonight since its going to get near zero for a couple days.

I have added a wood stove to keep warm if I am working in the sugarhouse. Doesn't warm the non insulated evaporator room much. Piped it into the side of the arch just in back of the flue pan.

That is a great idea for the woodstove. I've been wanting a stove but not another hole in my roof. Looks good, except the temperature. Good luck

Chris nice work. Do you worry about too much heat hitting the back corner of the flue pan when its empty and the woodstove is burning?

That's a good point I didn't think about before. Or, don't you run the stove unless there is something in it? I missed the float in the other pictures I saw. It looks good. I like that A-C milkcan seat. It's not a Cub, but I won't hold that agin ya

Sudz, Had a good time in the sugar house with you during the LEME event. Hope your season is a good one too!

Guys on the wood stove. I was a little concerned running the wood stove near the empty flues so I propped up a couple pieces of stainless Behind the flues when I set it up. Low and behold after many fires in the wood stove I open the back doors to remove the stainless and get ready to clean the flues and I found that the pieces of stainless had fallen down and weren't doing anything. So the flues were seeing some heat from the wood stove right along. Now consider that I don't have soldered pans, I did not have any leaks when the pans were filled so there was no damage done to the pans. I did add the damper in the wood stove pipe and close that during firing of the arch.

Chris

I just had to go look in my yard. I have the same Ford in my driveway. Is yours a v10 also?

No mine has the 5.4 v8. Nice truck, and it works good for gathering.

Look at you way down south where your thermometers only go to minus 40. Must be nice to live in that tropical paradise.
